Japanese electronics company Panasonic has agreed a two-season extension to its sponsorship deal with Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), the top division of Italian club basketball.
Having initially commenced the partnership in 2016, Panasonic will continue to serve as the main sponsor of Serie A and wider LBA events across the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
Panasonic will receive courtside LED banner advertising and wider branding rights, while in its role as the Official Timekeeper of the LBA it will receive exposure via LEDs on the backboards at arenas and via television coverage of games.
Claudio Lamperti, general manager of Panasonic Italia, said: “A recent consumer insight research study, commissioned by a specialised institute, has revealed a strong consumer satisfaction with the link between Panasonic and Lega Basket.
“Furthermore, the decision to support our brand through a sport with such great media coverage as basketball has served to further consolidate our brand awareness and convey the passion and dedication that have always distinguished our company philosophy.”
