NWSL links up with Army National Guard

The Army National Guard has agreed a deal with the National Women’s Soccer League to become the official armed forces partner of the US women’s top-flight football competition.

Under the deal, the national guard will benefit from branding via in-stadium signage as well as video and public addresses during games.

In addition, the league’s players will receive training tips from experts at the national guard.

The league’s player of the month award will now also be known as the Army National Guard Player of the Month award.

The national guard will also have the chance to host a ‘Military Night’ with each club during the season. Under this initiative, national guard members will receive free tickets and have the opportunity to take part in the first kick, coin toss and half-time presentation at a game.
