The Kia Motors Australia branch of Korean automotive company Kia has been named as the major sponsor of NRL rugby league team Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
The three-year deal runs from 2017 to 2019 and will grant Kia front-of-shirt branding on all Bulldogs apparel.
The new agreement builds upon a minor sponsorship arrangement between the two parties that began in 2015.
“Kia Motors is a truly global company that has identified sport sponsorship as a key marketing strategy,” Bulldogs chief executive Raelene Castle said. “We are proud that they’ve chosen the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs to help them grow their brand in Australia, it’s a coup for our club and for rugby league.”
Kia replaces electronics retailer Jaycar as the Bulldogs’ main sponsor.
