Norwich begins search for new main sponsor as Aviva downgrades

English Premier League football team Norwich City is searching for a new shirt sponsor for the 2016-17 season after insurance company Aviva signed an extended, but downsized, deal with the club.

Aviva has been Norwich’s main sponsor for the past eight years – a role it will continue to fulfil for the 2015-16 campaign before becoming  its community partner under a three-year agreement that runs through until the end of 2018-19.

Aviva retains its sponsorship rights for the Community Stand at Norwich’s Carrow Road stadium, with further details of the remodelled partnership to be announced at the start of the 2016-17 season.

Lindsay Forster, customer marketing director at Aviva, said: "Our time as main club sponsor has delivered some great community successes which have helped support some fantastic charities and it's great that this will continue as part of our new relationship.

"With the Aviva Community Fund, which launched this year to support local community groups across the UK, this new partnership will help deliver even more support in the region. The partnership has been a fantastic experience for us, our customers and employees and we're delighted to be able to continue our relationship with the club."

Norwich chief executive David McNally added that work is already underway to secure Aviva’s replacement as main partner.
