Northampton Saints score StubHub sponsorship

Online ticket marketplace StubHub has agreed a three-year deal with Northampton Saints to become an elite sponsor of the English Premiership rugby union club until at least 2016.

The StubHub logo will be displayed on the back of players’ jerseys, while the firm will also be able to take advantage of a broad package of marketing and activation-focused rights.

StubHub, an eBay company, provides fans with a safe marketplace to sell tickets to events they cannot attend. Northampton Saints season ticket holders will now be able to use the service to sell tickets to matches that they cannot travel to.

Allan Robson, Northampton Saints chief executive, said: “Aside from the obvious financial and profile benefits that come from being associated with a global company like StubHub, this agreement will also help add value to what we can offer our supporters.”

StubHub first launched in the UK last year and has already developed partnerships with a number of UK sporting organisations and entertainment venues, including The O2, the Lawn Tennis Association and English Premier League football clubs, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
