US sportswear firm Nike has agreed a six-year extension to its partnership with AFL Australian rules football team Carlton.
Under the deal, Nike will provide kits for Carlton until 2019 having done so for the past 15 years.
Carlton’s guernseys for 2014 have been two years in development and Nike claims they weigh 40 per cent less than the previous uniform.
The announcement of Carlton’s renewal with Nike coincided with the launch of its 150th anniversary commemorative guernsey, which will be worn in rounds seven, 13 and 23 of this season’s AFL.
