US sportswear giant Nike has extended a partnership with Appalachian State University under which it will continue supporting its athletics department.
The new agreement will run for seven years, from 2015-16 through to the end of the 2021-22 academic year.
Under the deal, Nike will continue to provide playing apparel and footwear to all 20 varsity sports teams featured in the university’s athletics programme.
The university’s sports team compete under the ‘Mountaineers’ umbrella name in the National Collegiate Athletics Association Division One Football Bowl Subdivision and the Sun Belt Conference.
Nike first began its support of the university’s athletics department in 2007.
