NHL, Navy Federal seal multiyear extension of US partnership

The National Hockey League and Navy Federal Credit Union have announced a multiyear extension of their United States partnership in which the Virginia-based global credit union will maintain its status as the league's official military appreciation partner.

As part of the agreement, Navy Federal will serve as the presenting sponsor of the NHL Veterans Appreciation Night game between the Arizona Coyotes and Minnesota Wild on November 10.

A league partner since 2018, Navy Federal will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2022 NHL Stadium Series game, which is taking place on February 26 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, the home of the National Football League’s Tennessee Titans.

Coinciding with the tentpole event, Navy Federal will once again be hosting their Veterans Showcase, a tournament comprised of veteran ice hockey teams that will compete in Nashville.

The NHL and Navy Federal will also continue Stick Tap for Service, a program to acknowledge and reward the outstanding community service of ice hockey fans and military members.

“We are thrilled to renew our partnership with Navy Federal after years of successfully working together to support our active-duty military, veterans and their families,” said Evin Dobson, NHL group vice president of partnership marketing. “Our extension enables us to continue delivering innovative content programming like Stick Tap for Service to connect with our passionate fans. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Navy Federal at our major events, including NHL Stadium Series.”

Navy Federal branding will also be integrated into additional league assets throughout the 2021-22 season, including dasherboards, tentpole events, and digital media.
