NFL’s Jaguars take a ride with Uber

NFL American football franchise the Jacksonville Jaguars has agreed an innovative new partnership with taxi service Uber.

As part of the first-of-its-kind arrangement, Jaguars fans will be able to purchase promotionally-priced match tickets through Uber’s mobile application whilst travelling to games at the club’s EverBank Field home stadium.

The initiative begins on Thursday, when Jacksonville takes on the Tennessee Titans, and continues through the remainder of the 2015 NFL regular season.

Tickets will be available for Uber customers to purchase on the day of the game. By selecting the paw icon on the app, users will be prompted to choose which tickets they require. The cost will then be billed to the individual’s Uber account and the tickets will be available for collection upon arrival at the stadium.

Steve Ziff, Jaguars vice-president of marketing and digital media, said: “With Uber we’ve created an integrated solution to the seating and transportation needs of Jaguars fans. It’s a convenient ticket purchase and safe ride wrapped into one quick and easy transaction.

“This ground-breaking relationship with Uber is another example of how the Jaguars continue to be trendsetters in using innovative technology to enhance both the game day and brand experience for our fans. Our market sets up perfectly as launching point for new ideas and strategies and to date we’ve had great success.”
