NFL orders Papa John’s extension

Pizza delivery company Papa John’s has signed a multi-year extension to its partnership with American football league the NFL.

Under the agreement, Papa John’s will continue to serve as the official pizza sponsor of the NFL and the season-ending Super Bowl game.

As part of the deal, the company will retain its rights to NFL logos and trademarks for use in advertising and marketing campaigns across events such as the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl and NFL Kickoff.

NFL stars including JJ Watt (pictured) of the Houston Texans and quarterback Peyton Manning, who ended his NFL career with the Denver Broncos last season, will continue to take part in Papa John’s advertising campaigns to promote the partnership.

Papa John’s has served as the NFL’s official pizza sponsor since 2010 and is currently the preferred pizza of the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams, Tennessee Titans and the Washington Redskins.

Earlier this year the company strengthened its position within North American sport by entering into a multi-year partnership with Major League Baseball.
