Major League Baseball franchise the New York Mets has agreed a multi-year partnership with soft drinks giant Coca-Cola.
The company has been named a signature partner of the Mets and its Citi Field home stadium. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, Coca-Cola will receive advertising exposure inside Citi Field and the club will introduce a themed seating area. Coca-Cola’s Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Dasani bottled water and Gold Peak Iced Tea products will also be available at the stadium on gamedays.
The two parties will collaborate on various marketing, advertising and promotional programmes throughout the duration of the partnership. In addition, commemorative 12-ounce Coca-Cola cans will be released next year to celebrate the Mets’ winning of the 2015 National League championship.
“This partnership combines our iconic brand with a championship calibre team right here in the business and sports capital of the world,” Sandy Douglas, president of Coca-Cola North America, said. “We are excited by the innovative marketing programmes we have developed for the 2016 season.”
