Nepal secures Singa backing ahead of World Twenty20 debut

Singapore-based manufacturing company Singa Steel has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Cricket Association of Nepal.

The deal comes on the back of Nepal securing qualification for the 2014 World Twenty20 in Bangladesh – the first time the country will appear at a major International Cricket Council tournament.

Singa Steel’s sponsorship will be used to finance the provision of cricket kit the CAN’s national teams and the company’s branding will feature on Nepal’s playing shirts.

Singa Steel chief executive Saad Khan Janjua also captains the Singapore national team and his company has previously sponsored a number of globally recognised cricketers, including Kamran Akmal of Pakistan and West Indies’ Ravi Rampaul.
