The Chinese division of North American basketball league the NBA has entered into a partnership with insurance company Manulife-Sinochem.
The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, names Manulife-Sinochem as the official life insurance partner of NBA China’s 5v5 tournament.
The deal represents the first partnership between NBA China and a Chinese insurance provider, as well as Manulife-Sinochem’s first major sports league venture.
Under the agreement, Manulife-Sinochem will invest in grassroots basketball in China by providing and repairing courts and organising training camps for schoolchildren in five cities across the country.
