Nascar extends Mobil 1 deal

The Nascar North American stock-car racing series has extended its partnership with multinational oil and gas company ExxonMobil, through which the Mobil 1 brand will continue to serve as its official motor oil.

The new agreement will extend the two parties’ relationship to 20 years.

ExxonMobil used Mobil 1’s status as the official motor oil of Nascar to help launch Mobil 1 Annual Protection, which allows drivers to go for a year, or 20,000 miles, between oil changes.

Stewart-Haas Racing driver, Kevin Harvick, features in commercials for the Annual Protection product, while also being featured in a prominent video series on social media.

Kai Decker, global motorsports manager at ExxonMobil, said: "The renewed partnership allows us to connect with racing of the most popular and exciting motorsport series in the country. Nascar has also been integral in helping support the launch of Mobil 1 Annual Protection motor oil."
