Monster Energy stays on board with Speedway World Championships

Energy drinks brand Monster Energy has signed a multi-year extension to its sponsorship agreement with the International Motorcycling Federation's (FIM) Speedway World Championships.

Under the agreement with Speedway World Championships rights-holder BSI Speedway – a company of the IMG agency – Monster Energy will remain the presenting sponsor of the Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) and the title sponsor of the Speedway World Cup (SWC).

Monster Energy will retain a significant present at the 12 rounds of the SGP and four SWC events and continue to engage with supporters to help the series to grow its fan base.

BSI Speedway managing director Paul Bellamy said: “Monster Energy has been a great supporter of the sport, the SGP series and Monster Energy SWC. They have added so much to the overall fan experience on and off the track as we work to ensure an SGP event is much more than just 23 heats of racing. It’s about putting on a great show.”

Monster Energy also sponsors world champion riders Greg Hancock, Chris Holder and Tai Woffinden in the series.

The financial terms of its latest deal with BSI Speedway were not disclosed.
