MoneyGram enters handball market for 2016 EHF Euros

Money transfer and payment services company MoneyGram has agreed a deal with the European Handball Federation to sponsor the men’s EHF Euro 2016 national team tournament in Poland.

As part of the agreement, MoneyGram will be granted prominent advertising exposure during games, through LED boards, floor stickers and static boards at either end of the court.

The company will also be given full activation rights to the tournament, which will take place in the cities of Krakow, Katowice, Wroclaw and Gdansk from January 15-31. In addition, MoneyGram will receive hospitality and ticket packages over the course of the two-week event.

EHF president Jean Brihault said: “For official sponsors such as MoneyGram, the event will offer an exceptional opportunity to reach fans of the sport across Europe and worldwide, as Poland plays host to the biggest and highest profile European Championship to date.”

Infront Sports & Media, the EHF’s media and marketing partner, brokered the deal.
