MLB’s Pirates toast brewery partnership

Major League Baseball team Pittsburgh Pirates has announced a multi-year partnership with beer producer the Pittsburgh Brewing Company.

Under the deal, Pittsburgh Brewing’s I.C. Light beer brand takes the naming sponsorship of the left-field bleachers area at the Pirates’ PNC Park.

The space will include I.C Light branding, in-bowl signage and I.C Light stand to sell the beer to fans.

Last week, the Pirates announced a similar arrangement with health insurance provider Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield relating to its right-field bleachers. The terms of both agreements are undisclosed.

Pittsburgh Brewing will market Pirates themed cans during summer 2014 featuring one of three bespoke designs and available in 30-packs throughout the MLB season. As part of this promotion, the company will launch its 95 Days of Summer campaign, with unique codes in each 30-pack giving customers the chance to win 95 prizes over 95 days.
