Microsoft pens season-long deal with PSG

French Ligue 1 football club Paris Saint-Germain has signed a partnership with US software corporation Microsoft that will run until the end of the 2013–14 season.

Microsoft will use the tie-up to promote its Xbox One games console, which launches on 22 November, and Surface tablet. The two products will become the respective official game platform and tablet of the Ligue 1 champion.

PSG’s official app is now available through Microsoft’s Windows Store for use on Surface tablets.

Microsoft will benefit from heightened visibility around PSG matches and a variety of promotional opportunities, while it will also work with the club to enhance the game-day experience at its Parc de Princes home.

The VIP sections at the Paris venue will be equipped with Surface tablets and Xbox consoles as part of the initiative.
