Mercedes-Benz adds PGA Tour Series-China to golf portfolio

German automotive manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has agreed a sponsorship deal with golf’s PGA Tour Series-China.

Mercedes-Benz will serve as the series’ official automobile. The length of the deal was not disclosed but it begins with the Kunming Championship, which gets underway tomorrow (Thursday) at the Yulongwan Golf Club in Yunnan province.

As part of the deal, Mercedes-Benz will display its Dream Cars models and V-Class sedans at PGA Tour Series-China events. Cars will be available for players and fans to test drive.

The deal is in line with the company’s long-term commitment to help develop golf in China and globally. Mercedes-Benz already sponsors the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, The Masters, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship, as well as the annual MercedesTrophy.

Since 2014, the PGA Tour Series-China has offered a path to the Web.com Tour, the PGA Tour’s developmental tour.

Mercedes-Benz has supported Chinese players such as Wenchong Liang and Haotong Li, and its high-profile brand ambassadors include Rickie Fowler and Jon Rahm.
