Memphis Grizzlies motor on with Ford deal

NBA basketball franchise the Memphis Grizzlies has agreed a multi-year sponsorship deal with the Mid-South Ford Dealers arm of US automotive giant Ford.

As part of the deal, the Grizzlies’ practice court will be re-named the Built Ford Tough Training Facility.

Ford will also work closely with the club on its ‘We Got Next!’ scholarship scheme, which aims to help underprivileged youths in the Memphis area reach their potential.

Diane Terrell, executive vice-president of the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation and community engagement team, said: “It is important to foster a culture of achievement among young Memphians, and we’re excited to partner with a brand that sees the value in rewarding students with opportunity the way that we do.”

In addition, Ford will receive extensive advertising rights inside FedExForum, the Grizzlies 18,000-capacity home arena. The Grizzlies’ pre-game, half-time and post-game shows, which air on US regional broadcaster Fox Sports Southeast, will also be presented by Ford.
