Mars to tackle new AFL deal

Food products manufacturer Mars has expanded its involvement in Australian rules football by signing a three-year deal to become the official confectionery partner of the AFL league.

Mars has supported AFL clubs for almost two decades and is currently serving as the joint major sponsor of Carlton.

“Mars has been a proud supporter of the AFL for many years – particularly through our clubs and players – so we’re pleased to be able to elevate that relationship to a national scale,” AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said.

“Through Mars’ ongoing sponsorship of the Carlton Football Club we’ve seen a high level of support for the game as well as some of the most innovative marketing campaigns in Australian sport.”

Earlier this month, the AFL signed a two-year extension to its partnership agreement with premium sponsor Toyota.
