LPGA signs up partners for 2016 International Crown

The Ladies Professional Golf Association has announced that Calamos Investments and Rolex will serve as global partners for the second edition of its International Crown event when it is staged in Sugar Grove, Illinois in July 2016.

The announcement has been made after the inaugural International Crown, which was staged at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland last month. Luxury watch manufacturer Rolex served as one of five ‘ambassador partners’ for the event, alongside Swinging Skirts, Hana Financial Group, Pandora Jewelry and UL, and will return in 2016.

Global investment management firm Calamos, which is headquartered in Illinois, will also back the world team championship when it takes place at the Rich Harvest Farms course. John P. Calamos, Sr., chief executive of Calamos Investments, said his company is sponsoring the event on the back of its partnership with the Solheim Cup in 2009.

“We really liked the team aspect of the event, and Rich Harvest Farms was a tremendous venue for us to be able to entertain our customers,” Calamos said.  “I also like the different countries and the international flavour of the event. The atmosphere is very good. Our clients loved it.”

The 2014 International Crown ran from July 24-27, with Spain emerging triumphant ahead of Sweden in second place.
