Lieferando orders Bayer Leverkusen deal, extends with Bundesliga rivals

Online food-ordering service Lieferando has agreed a sponsorship deal with Bayer Leverkusen and extended its partnerships with fellow German Bundesliga football clubs Eintracht Frankfurt, Hertha Berlin and Hamburg.

The lengths of the agreements, which were brokered by the Lagardère Sports agency, were not disclosed.

The deals will grant Lieferando exposure on LED advertising boards at the clubs’ home grounds.

Lieferando has also secured new deals with second-tier 2.Bundesliga teams FC Nürnberg, Hannover 96, Dynamo Dresden, Eintracht Braunschweig and VfB Stuttgart.

The company also sponsored the German Supercup match in August, and last season’s Bundesliga relegation play-off matches.

Lieferando chief executive Jörg Gerbig said: “The past season has convinced us to strengthen our leading position as a known brand for online food orders in Germany with a renewed involvement in football. The target group of football fans remains relevant for us and the sponsorship complements our marketing activities in order to better reach this audience.”
