Lexus drives into Tour of California

Lexus, the luxury car manufacturing division of Japanese automotive giant Toyota, has agreed a multi-year sponsorship deal for the Tour of California cycling race.

Lexus will be the title sponsor of two stages of men’s and women’s races at the 2015 edition of the 2 HC categorised event, which runs from May 10-17.

The Tour of California will receive a fleet of more than 125 Lexus vehicles to be used for teams, race personnel and medical staff.

Lexus’ NX model will be the official pace car to lead the peloton of 144 riders during each stage and Lexus will present the King of the Mountain jersey at the daily podium award presentation for the day’s best climber.

The winner of the Tour of California will receive a two-year Lexus NX lease, while the company is also the premier partner of the Tour of California’s professional women’s three-day stage race on May 8-10.
