Land Rover steps up Extreme Sailing Series backing

British multi-purpose vehicle manufacturer Land Rover has signed a two-year extension to its partnership with the Extreme Sailing Series.

Land Rover’s agreement with the series will cover the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The announcement coincides with the Land Rover BAR team confirming that its academy squad will be participating in the Extreme Sailing Series for the first time this year as preparation for the 2017 America’s Cup.

“The series has proven to be a fantastic vehicle to support visibility of our brands globally,” Mark Cameron, global brand experience director at Jaguar Land Rover, said. “In addition, 2016 promises to be a particularly exciting year for us as we enter, for the first time, a Series team as part of the Land Rover BAR Academy team, competing in all eight acts.”
