LaLiga content to be shown on trains through Renfe partnership

LaLiga, the organising body of the top two divisions of Spanish club football, has agreed a new partnership with state-owned railway company Renfe which will result in coverage of top-tier LaLiga matches, and certain European games, on its trains.

The agreement for the 2019-20 season names Renfe as the official transport of LaLiga. Along with providing travel offers to fans, joint communication and advertising campaigns will be developed while Renfe will have a presence across LaLiga’s digital channels.

PlayRenfe, the multimedia content platform provided on Renfe’s AVE trains, will offer LaLiga matches along with what the organisation described as the “main meetings” from the Uefa Champions League and Europa League.

In addition, Renfe plans to incorporate football programming to the low-cost train offer that it is currently developing and is set to launch from Spain’s Holy Week next year, which will run from April 5-12.
