Kroger extends partnership with Daytona International Speedway

The Daytona International Speedway motor-racing venue has agreed a multi-year extension to its partnership with US retail group Kroger.

Kroger will serve as the presenting sponsor of the qualifying day for next year’s Daytona 500, the showpiece event on the Nascar stock-car racing calendar.

As part of the deal, the company will promote the Daytona 500 at its multiple stores. Kroger will also receive trackside advertising at the qualifying event and various other races during the Nascar Sprint Cup series.

The International Speedway Corporation venues also included under the deal are Homestead-Miami Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Talladega Superspeedway, Richmond International Raceway, Martinsville Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Chicagoland Speedway and Michigan International Speedway.

Next year’s Daytona 500 will take place at the redeveloped Daytona International Speedway, which is currently undergoing construction work as part of the $400m (€373m) Daytona Rising project.
