Juventus extends Samsung deal

Korean electronics giant Samsung has signed a three-year extension to its partnership with Italian Serie A football club Juventus.

The two parties’ new deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will cover the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons.

Under the agreement, Samsung will continue to enjoy brand presence at Juventus Stadium and Juventus Training Center. Both Juventus and Samsung will also organise digital media initiatives and promotional campaigns as part of the deal.

Samsung’s products were used by Juventus during the 2015-16 Serie A season, which finished earlier this month. The company’s Gear 360 camera was used to film the club’s post-match celebrations after its final home game of the season, a 5-0 win against Sampdoria on May 14. Juventus finished the season as Serie A champion for a fifth successive campaign.

Giorgio Ricci, Juventus’ head of global partnerships and corporate revenues, said: “The standout technological research towards young people and recent proposal of unique experiences dedicated to Bianconeri fans make for perfect conditions from which to develop and take this partnership to a new level."

Samsung first teamed up with Juventus in October 2013.
