Tequila brand Jose Cuervo has signed a partnership with the Force India Formula One team, effective from the 2015 season of the motor racing championship.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Jose Cuervo’s branding will appear on the headrest of Force India’s VJM08 race car, drivers’ suits and all team clothing.
The agreement sees Jose Cuervo switch its allegiance in F1 from Sauber, where it was one of a host of Mexican-based companies on the team's sponsorship roster. These agreements were due to the presence of Mexico’s Esteban Gutierrez as a Sauber driver for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, but he was dropped for the 2015 campaign.
Mexico’s Sergio Perez will drive alongside Nico Hulkenberg for Force India in the forthcoming season.
In November, Mexican telecommunications company America Movil renewed its deal with Force India for the 2015 season. The deal came on the back of Perez renewing his contract to race for the team for 2015 and beyond.
