Jordan Brand partners with Fortnite video game

The Jordan Brand has become the latest sports property to integrate into the highly-popular Fortnite video game.

The Nike clothing and footwear line, named after former NBA legend and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan, has created a limited-time partnership with Fortnite developer Epic Games, allowing players to purchase the Hang Time bundle to unlock two character skins, who wear Jordan Brand sneakers. There is also a new game mode called Downtown Drop by Jordan.

With more than 250 million registered players, Fortnite is the most popular video game in the world, which has led to many sports and entertainment organizations seeking to tap into its reach.

Last year, the NFL allowed its team uniforms to be featured in the game.

This year, the Fortnite World Cup finals will be held at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the home of the US Open tennis grand slam, on July 26-28.
