JetBlue signs up with Barclays Center franchises

New York-based airline JetBlue Airways has signed a multi-faceted partnership with NBA basketball team Brooklyn Nets, NHL ice hockey franchise New York Islanders and the Barclays Center arena.

Brooklyn Nets plays its home games at the Barclays Center and the Islanders will move to the arena for the 2015-16 NHL season.

As the official domestic airline of the Barclays Center, the Nets and the Islanders, JetBlue will benefit from extensive digital signage at all arena events along with branding throughout selected assets controlled by all three organisations.

JetBlue becomes the 11th founding partner of the Barclays Center and will award free flights through associated in-event and social media promotions.

In association with the Nets, JetBlue is the team’s first partner to receive permanent television-visible signage behind the scorer’s table at all home games, as well as strategic branding and a social media presence. To celebrate the partnership, JetBlue is set to host a fan rally on Barclays Center Plaza before the Nets host local rivals the New York Knicks this Friday.

The agreement with the Islanders includes a television visible dasherboard, presenting sponsorship rights for one game per season and other strategic branding and social media assets.

JetBlue becomes a founding partner of Barclays Center alongside American Honda Motor Co., American Express, Calvin Klein, Cushman & Wakefield, EmblemHealth, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Geico, MetroPCS, Stolichnaya and Ticketmaster.
