JD moves into kit supply market with Bournemouth

English Premier League newcomer AFC Bournemouth has agreed a kit deal with UK sportswear retailer JD.

The deal marks JD’s first move into kit manufacturing. Bournemouth has previously worn kits by JD’s subsidiary sportswear brand Carbrini between 2008-2011 and 2013-2015.

JD will also benefit from additional branding on the sleeves of Bournemouth’s playing shirts as the club prepares to enter the top division of English football in 2015-16.

“As a business, we are proud to continue our association with AFC Bournemouth through such an exciting era,” JD Group marketing director Stephen White said. “Having been involved through our Carbrini brand for a number of years, including last year’s Championship winning season, we feel that the global audience of the Premier League is the perfect opportunity to introduce JD as the official kit partner to AFC Bournemouth.”

Over the past fortnight, Bournemouth has secured kit sponsor and stadium naming rights deals with online gaming company Mansion Group and health insurance provider Vitality respectively.
