Ironman teams up with Avis, Theragun

Triathlon events operator Ironman has agreed new partnerships with car rental firm Avis and percussive massage therapy brand Theragun.

The two-year agreement with Avis will give Ironman athletes across Europe a wide range of benefits.

These include a 10-per-cent discount on Avis’ regular prices as well as priority parking on race day. In addition, age group athletes will also be given priority bike racking capability and have the opportunity to have a family member or friend award their Ironman medal after they complete their journey to the finish line.

Whilst the partnership has been designed to positively-impact athletes on race weekends, competitors will also have the additional benefit of receiving the 10-per-cent discount throughout the duration of the partnership period, regardless of whether they’re competing in an Ironman event or away with their family on summer holiday.

Meanwhile, Theragun will become the official percussive therapy device of the Ironman US Series, covering the 2019 Ironman and Ironman 70.3 event series.

Coupled with onsite brand education opportunities at races, Theragun will host key activation and recovery stations at race transition stations, to alleviate muscle cramps and stimulate muscle recovery to enhance triathlon athlete performance.

To aid its partnership, Theragun has agreed a brand ambassador partnership with England’s Lucy Charles-Barclay, a rising star in Ironman events.
