IPL duo handed commercial boost

Indian Premier League cricket franchise Kings XI Punjab has announced truck manufacturer Tata Motors Prima as its title sponsor for the 2014 season, while SunRisers Hyderabad have extended deals with two of their partners.

Kings XI Punjab has won its opening two matches of IPL 7 and Tata Motors Prima now heads up a roster of 14 sponsors.

For the 2014 season of the Twenty20 league, Kings XI Punjab brought official team sponsors Trip Factory and Prayag Bath Fittings on board along with McDowells, Britannia, Pepsi, Flying Machine, Frontline Securities, R N Sports and Amazon, while benefitting from continued relationships with Arise India, ACC Cement, Kingfisher and TK Sports. The terms of the deal with Tata Motors Prima were undisclosed.

IPL counterpart SunRisers Hyderabad have announced 93.5 Red FM as its principal sponsor and official radio partner, extending its association with the radio station into a second season.

SunRisers Hyderabad will feature 93.5 Red FM’s logo on the front of its shirts and the station will benefit from a range of in-stadium and on-air activations.

Meanwhile, Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet has signed a one-year extension to its partnership with the team and will continue to serve as its official airline partner. Throughout the duration of the 2014 IPL, Spicejet will offer free passes for the SunRisers home games in India, and merchandise to fans, as prizes through various contests that will be held during the tournament.
