Infront brokers Italian football deal with Changhong

The Infront Sports & Media agency has entered into a partnership with Changhong that will secure the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer advertising exposure at 12 football venues across Italy’s top two divisions.

Under the agreement, the Changhong brand will be visible at the home grounds of Serie A sides AC Milan, Udinese, Palermo, Genoa, Sampdoria, Carpi and Chievo, as well as Serie B teams Cagliari, Bari, Cesena, Livorno and Brescia. The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, will begin with this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Changhong will receive pitchside advertising through LED signage during the home games of the 12 clubs, and the company will also be granted hospitality packages.

“Changhong Italia is drawing up a communication plan for 2016-17 which will be very rich in cultural and sporting events with widespread appeal,” Alex Lin, general manager at Changhong Italia, said.

Darwin Huang, vice-general manager of Sichuan Changhong Electric, added: “Italy, for Changhong, is a very important country in terms of developing the brand in Europe. At the same time, Italian football has a big following in China, with many fans watching the league and being informed about the players.”
