Hyundai drives increasing PGA Tour presence

Korean automotive company Hyundai has expanded its presence in golf’s PGA Tour by agreeing sponsorship deals for two tournaments being staged this month.

Following its title sponsorship of the Tournament of Champions, which took place during the first week of January in Kapalua, Hawaii, Hyundai will serve as the official vehicle of the Humana Challenge in La Quinta, California on January 13-19 and the vehicle partner of the Farmers Insurance Open across state in La Jolla the following week.

The deals means PGA Tour players, tournament staff and executives will drive Hyundai vehicles at three of the first four events on the 2014 calendar. Players competing at both the Humana Challenge and the Farmers Insurance Open will be able to keep their vehicle for two weeks, allowing them to drive from La Quinta to La Jolla.

At the Humana Challenge, fans attending in Hyundai cars will be upgraded from general to preferred parking at the venue. There will also be three chances for players to win a Hyundai car by making a hole-in-one during the event.
