US gaming accessories brand HyperX has renewed its partnership with the NBA 2K League.
Under the deal, HyperX will continue as the Official Headset Partner of the NBA 2K League for a second season.
The league will use HyperX headsets throughout the competition, including the regular season in New York – which is played in-studio rather than before a live audience – the playoffs and the NBA 2K League Finals.
Mark Leathem, general manager at HyperX, said: “Esports and sports are now synonymous, and the NBA 2K League is helping lead this new world of converging entertainment. Hearing every detail and communicating effectively during competitions is critically important to players and we are happy to provide the best gear to the players.”
HyperX also has team sponsorships with Mavs Gaming, HEAT Check Gaming, NetsGC, T-Wolves Gaming and 76ers Gaming Club. The peripherals brand also sponsors current NBA athletes such as Gordon Hayward, Joel Embiid and De’Aaron Fox.
Season two of the NBA 2K League started yesterday. The league has a larger $1.2m prize pool for 2019, up from $1m in season one.
Other NBA 2K League sponsors include AT&T, Intel, New Era, Alienware, Champion, Scuf Gaming and Raynor Gaming.
