Australian car company Holden has extended its title sponsorship of the country’s State of Origin annual rugby league series.
The new deal will run for two seasons, from 2016 to 2017.
Under the agreement, the series, contested between teams representing the states of New South Wales and Queensland, will continue to be known as the Holden State of Origin Series.
As part of the extended deal, Holden will support the new ‘This is Origin’ campaign, which has been launched as a creative platform to encourage fans and players to share their memories of the series.
Game one of this year’s series takes place at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney on June 1.
