Hitachi power tool brand signs shirt sleeve deal with LaLiga’s SD Eibar

Hitachi power tool brand HiKOKI has signed a new shirt sleeve deal with SD Eibar, the former club of Japanese international Takashi Inui (pictured).

The one-year deal, which was reportedly signed around the time of Inui’s sale to Real Betis this summer, will see HiKOKI feature on SD Eibar’s left sleeve until the end of the 2018-19 season.

HiKOKI will also enjoy brand exposure at SD Eibar’s Ipurua Municipal Stadium, Atxabalpe training ground, and exposure on SD Eibar social media channels.

Formerly known as Hitachi Koki, HiKOKI produces cordless, mains and outdoor power tools and accessories.

In December 2017, Hitachi launched the HiKOKI brand and opened a new regional HQ in Düsseldorf, Germany, from where it seeks to expand its European sales.

Japanese midfield hero Takashi Inui played for SD Eibar for three seasons between 2015 and 2018, helping it to become the third most popular LaLiga club in Japan after Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Thanks to the Inui connection, SD Eibar is also one of only five LaLiga sides to have an official supporters club in Japan – along with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletic Bilbao and RCD Espanyol – but it may soon be followed by a Real Betis fan club later this season.
