GPS Performance aims to hit World Archery’s sponsorship targets

Sports marketing and event management company GPS Performance has partnered with World Archery to deliver the global governing body’s sponsorship programme.

Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, GPS will cater for World Archery’s existing sponsors and look to expand the body’s partner portfolio.

A key goal for GPS will be to secure a title sponsor for the 2015 edition of the governing body’s Archery World Cup circuit. Next year’s series will mark the 10th anniversary of the circuit.

World Archery’s current sponsor portfolio includes the likes of Turkish Airlines, Kia Motors, Longines, Fila and SportToto.

The appointment of GPS comes after Didier Mieville, World Archery’s long-serving television and marketing director, opted to step down from the role in October.

“World Archery is starting a new approach towards sponsorship and we are pleased to work with the team at GPS Performance,” World Archery president Ugur Erdener said.

“For World Archery to reach a higher level in marketing and sponsorship we need an external partner. GPS Performance brings experience from within the sponsorship world and we are convinced that they are the perfect match for our growing sport.”
