Accor Hotels Australia, a subsidiary of French hotel group Accor, has entered into a sponsorship deal with the Golf Australia national governing body.
Under the deal, Accor Hotels Australia will become the exclusive accommodation partner of Golf Australia.
Golf Australia will have access to up to 200 hotels and facilities across Accor’s brands, which include Pullman, Novotel and Ibis.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed, but the new partnership is in addition to Accor’s multi-year arrangement with the Women’s Australian Open tournament.
Stephen Pitt, chief executive of Golf Australia, said: “As a sector, an accommodation partner can have a significant positive impact on our business, across all departments. That’s particularly true for our major events and national amateur championships each year.”
The deal adds golf to Accor’s growing list of Australian sporting partners which already include the Australian Football League, National Rugby League, Cricket Australia and Swimming Australia.
