RGS Events Australia has been appointed as the official furniture provider for the 2018 edition of the Commonwealth Games multi-sport event, which will be staged in the country’s Gold Coast region.
RGS Events will be responsible for delivering furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) for the Games, along with bedding and electrical goods.
In total, the company will transport 46,000 chairs, 40,000 coat hangers, 20,000 tables and 7,000 beds, mattresses and bed-side tables for the event, which runs from April 4-15.
Peter Beattie, chairman of the Games’ organising committee, said: “From humble beginnings in Melbourne in 1950 their growth and expertise has seen them deliver FF&E to no fewer than 11 major international events in the past 16 years including both the Melbourne 2006 and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
“Experience counts when you are managing an event of this scale and with our focus on delivering the best Games ever, having a reliable provider on board is of great comfort. We know they’ll get the job done to a high standard.”
