Canadian newspaper the Globe and Mail has renewed its partnership as the official national news media partner to the Canadian Olympic Committee.
The deal extends through to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and includes support for the Canadian Olympic team’s brand campaign for the Sochi 2014 Winter Games and the Coaches Reward Program, which rewards coaches financially for Olympic podium finishes.
The Globe is also the national news media partner for the men’s and women’s Canadian bobsleigh and skeleton squads and the presenting sponsor of the women’s CAN 1 bobsleigh team.
Benefits include prominent branding for the Globe and Mail on team suits and the CAN 1 bobsleigh.
The Globe and Mail is set to send eight journalists to Sochi 2014 to cover the Games across print and multimedia formats.
