GAA’s Sligo gears up for new season with multiple deals

Sportswear manufacturer Kukri has signed a three-year kit manufacturing deal with the Gaelic Athletic Association’s Sligo County Board.

The agreement marks Kukri’s first tie-up with an inter-county team after receiving its license from the GAA shortly before Christmas. Kukri is already the kit supplier for the Ulster rugby union team and the All-Ireland ladies Gaelic football champions Cork.

Sligo announced the Kukri partnership alongside its sponsorship arrangements for the 2014 season. Along with retaining hotel group Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa as the main sponsor of its senior and junior football teams for a further year, Sligo has taken advantage of the recent change to GAA sponsorship regulations which allows for an additional sponsors’ name to appear on jerseys.

The board has signed state funded third-level educational institution IT Sligo as its secondary sponsor for the coming season.
