Fratelli Beretta enters Premier League with Everton

Italian food production business Fratelli Beretta has agreed its first partnership with an English Premier League football club through a multi-year deal with Everton.

Fratelli Beretta also becomes Everton’s first Official Club Partner based in Italy and will receive marketing assets across the club and a presence at Goodison Park on matchdays to increase awareness of its products in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Fratelli Beretta has a long history of investment in professional sports and currently holds partnerships with Italian Serie A clubs Juventus, AC Milan and Torino.

Alan McTavish, commercial director at Everton, said: “This partnership demonstrates the growing global appeal of Everton and represents another positive development in our commercial strategy.”

The partnership is understood to be a three-season deal, from 2019-20 to 2021-22, and builds on AXA’s existing Global Partner agreement with Liverpool.

The deal is the largest ever sponsorship investment in UK women’s sport and comes less than a year after the league went fully professional in September 2018.

Under the five-year global deal, Oppo will become the first Official Smartphone Partner of The Championships, Wimbledon, as the event is officially known.

US sportswear brand Nike is paying about $7.5m (€6.7m) per year to sponsor China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL), according to industry sources.
