FISU teams up with Chinese sportswear company

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has agreed a partnership with Chinese sportswear firm Qiaodan Sports.

The four-year deal will run until 2020 and names Qiaodan Sports as FISU’s exclusive sports gear supplier.

Qiaodan Sports has partnered with FISU in the past on the body’s 3×3 Basketball World University League. The company has also partnered with the China University Sports Association, and sponsored Chinese and Russian teams at various Universiades, the multi-sport competition organised by FISU.

“FISU is building a strong network of partners that share its determination and passion for raising the profile of university sport and this deal is part of that strategy,” FISU president Oleg Matytsin said. “I am confident that, with the help of Qiaodan Sports, FISU will be better equipped to deliver its mission to act for the health and wellbeing of students, and thereby help them to become tomorrow’s leaders.”

FISU is in the process of developing a new 10-year strategy that will outline new goals across all areas of its operations, with a particular focus on its commercial, marketing and communications activities.
