German retail and tourism company Rewe Group has sealed a four-year extension to its shirt sponsorship deal with Bundesliga football team FC Koln.
Rewe’s branding will feature on FC Koln’s kits through the 2017-18 season, retaining a position it has held since July 2007. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Alain Caparros, chief executive of Rewe Group, said: “We have been through good and bad times with the club. And as a loyal partner of FC Koln, we are convinced that there is now with the rise to the Bundesliga a lasting positive sporting perspective. The management of the club has been corrected. With our long-term contract extension, we give the club and its fans a clear sign that we are committed to support this approach.”
FC Koln secured its return to German football’s top flight by winning the 2.Bundesliga last season, ending a two-year absence.
