FAI calls up renewed Three backing

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has extended its primary sponsorship deal with telecommunications firm Three through to 2016.

The two parties said the new agreement will be worth an additional €4m ($5.16m), adding to the current agreement and already committed investment by Three of €7.8 million.

Three has served as primary sponsor of the Irish national team and the FAI since 2010 and will continue to have exclusive branding rights to training and playing gear and kit, ticket branding and pitch-side branding at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The new agreement also includes a significant commitment to promoting the grassroots game in Ireland.

Robert Finnegan, chief executive of Three, said: “To date, in addition to the value of the sponsorship fee, FAI affiliated clubs up and down the country have earned over €500,000 by switching to Three through our Three Club Offer. This initiative has been a huge success and we look forward to continuing our support of grassroots football as part of our extended deal.”
