Extreme Sailing Series brings in new partners as season opens

The Extreme Sailing Series has agreed new partnerships with logistics and trading solutions provider WTC Logistics and BAR Rigging, a business venture set up by the same team behind the Ben Ainslie Racing sailing outfit.

WTC Logistics will become an official partner of the series until 2020.

The company will provide a complete logistics support package, covering the worldwide shipping of boats, equipment and materials for the series.

Harry Spedding, technical team leader at the Extreme Sailing Series, said: “As a global event, we will visit eight countries across three continents over 10 months in 2018, often working under severe time pressures, and so logistics management is absolutely crucial to the successful delivery of the event.”

Meanwhile, BAR Rigging has agreed a deal to serve as an official supplier to the series in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

The firm will provide bespoke rigging packages for the hydro-foiling catamarans used by all competing teams in the series.

The 2018 Extreme Sailing Series began yesterday (Wednesday) with the Muscat round in Oman, which runs from March 14-17.
