European Tour strikes newsworthy deal

UAE English-language newspaper 7DAYS has renewed its partnership as the official newspaper of golf’s World Tour Championship to take in the 2013 edition of the final event on the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.

The European Tour and 7DAYS first came together for the 2012 edition of the World Tour Championship.

Record crowds of 60,000 spectators attended across the four days of competition and Nick Tarrant, director of European Tour International, said 7DAYS’ promotional activity was a “major contributor” to those numbers.

This year, the top 60 players on the tour will decamp to the Earth course at Jumeirah Gold Estates from November 14-17 to contest prize money totalling $8m (€6m).
